Dorothy Stone Mullinax was called home to Heaven on February 2, 2023. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rev. George F. Mullinax, and her parents Louis Stone and Nancy Lewis Stone of Crowell, TX. Dorothy had five brothers and sisters; Thomas Stone (deceased), Marilyn Ainsworth (husband Joe), Curtis Stone, John Stone (wife Gale), and Ruth Donges (husband Randy).
Dorothy graduated magna cum laude from Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, Texas, and taught business subjects in Anson, TX and in Virginia at Grundy, Matoaco, and Portsmouth. She loved to read, sew, and study genealogy.
Her life was fulfilled when her two children were born–Robert and Sharon. The family circle increased when Robert married Sheryl and Sharon married Brian. Her grandchildren brought much joy to her life: Adam, Lauren, Nathan, Aaron, Alaina, and Daniel. She was especially blessed by seven great grandchildren Eleanor, Harper, Katherine, Graham, Tobias, Landon, and Sutton.
A funeral service will be held at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 7 at 3:00 p.m. Family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home on Monday, February 6 from 7-8 p.m. Interment will take place in Weatherford, TX on Saturday, February 11.
