Local Centenarian Mildred Bernice Barker, 104, departed from this life on Sunday, March 12,
2023, leaving behind the rich legacy of a life well lived. Mildred was born June 21, 1918, in
Sentinel, Oklahoma to Bennett Neely and Della (McDuff) Neely. She married Millard Barker and
set off on the adventure of a lifetime as his loving wife. They raised two children, three grandsons
and one granddaughter, and were blessed with numerous great-grandchildren. She lived her life
with utmost dedication and faithfully cared for her home and her family. Mildred was a wonderful
wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Barker, and her parents, Bennett and
Della Neely.
Mildred is survived by her son, Tommy and his wife, Janet Barker; daughter, Pamela Kirkland;
grandchildren, Jason and wife Anna Barker, Anthony and wife Addie Cribbs, Travis and wife
Kaitlyn Wright, and Kyler and Tristin Weger; great grandchildren, Jordan and Landrie Barker,
Kylie, Konner and Kimber Cribbs, Nolan and Owen Wright, and Parker and Haisley Weger.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard
Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
